Official Procession Route and Safety <\/h3>\n

The <\/span>Official Processional Route<\/b> of the <\/span>Great Passion Procession \u2018Lucena Vive la Pasi\u00f3n\u2019<\/b>, to be held on <\/span>27th September<\/b>, constitutes <\/span>the central shared section<\/b> through which all the participating cort\u00e8ges will pass during this historic event. It will be the place from which the chronological unfolding of the <\/span>Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ<\/b>, may be contemplated, accompanied by the artistry of <\/span>Lucena\u2019s \u2018santer\u00eda\u2019<\/b>, the richness of its processional images, and the town\u2019s sound heritage, expressed through renowned marching bands and the drum and \u2018torralbo\u2019 of Lucena. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Each brotherhood will begin its processional route <\/a><\/span>from its <\/span>church or canonical seat<\/b>, although not all the devotional images will depart from their usual location. Following their processional departure, the participating cort\u00e8ges will progressively merge into a <\/span>unified 550-metre section<\/b>, forming the one-way Official Processional Route, which will be appropriately enclosed with barriers. Spectators will be able to stand behind these barriers throughout the route<\/strong> until full capacity is reached.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Plaza Nueva: The Heart of the Great Passion Procession<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/span>Plaza Nueva<\/b> will serve as the <\/span>principal focal point<\/b> of the event. The <\/span>official viewing stand<\/b> will be installed there, together with <\/span>1.853 numbered<\/b>, reserved seats<\/a> <\/span> <\/span>, all available in support of the Parish Caritas organisations, from which spectators will be able to enjoy the passing of the processional thrones in comfort and from a privileged vantage point. This location will become the symbolic, visual and emotional heart of the day. Access will be allowed from 6.00 pm, and Magdalena Rueda, the official announcer of the Agrupaci\u00f3n de Cofrad\u00edas of Lucena, will provide an introduction to the history and distinctive features of each of the participating processional thrones. <\/span><\/p>\n

A particularly significant features of this event is that Lucena does not ordinarily have an Official Processional Route during Holy Week, but only a shared processional itinerary.<\/strong> Consequently, this will be the first time in the town\u2019s history that the brotherhoods will be required to adhere to a strictly defined timetable in order to pass punctually through Lucena\u2019s first-ever Official Processional Route.<\/p>\n

The Great Passion Procession will be presided over by Our Lady of Araceli, Patroness of Lucena and of the Andalusian countryside<\/strong>, who, from the atrium of the Major Parish Church of Saint Matthew the Apostle, enthroned upon the canopy of the Blessed Sacrament, will stand as the faithful witness to this historic occasion. On either side, it will be flanked by the banners of the Glory Brotherhoods belonging to the Agrupaci\u00f3n de Cofrad\u00edas of Lucena.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Timetable and Organization<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Official Processional Route, appropriately enclosed with barriers, will open at <\/span>7.00 pm<\/b> with the arrival of the first processional throne, while the last is expected to enter at around <\/span>10.30 pm<\/b>. The Official Processional Route has been designed by Manuel Rold\u00e1n, the architect also responsible for its Safety and Evacuation Plan. <\/span><\/p>\n

The event organisation will be supported by twenty-four <\/span>private security personnel<\/b>, together with the presence of the <\/span>Local Police<\/b>, <\/span>National Police,<\/b> Civil Protection,<\/b>medical teams, and a large number of volunteers responsible for access control working alongside personnel from the Parish Caritas organisations. Also taking part will be processional throne delegates, each responsible for a particular throne and represented by current and former officials of the Agrupaci\u00f3n de Cofrad\u00edas of Lucena. The passage of the processional cort\u00e8ges has been designed to be continuous and fluid, with a <\/span>streamlined external cort\u00e8ge<\/b>, while preserving the essence of each brotherhood and the distinctive identity of Holy Week in Lucena. Participation will therefore be limited exclusively to the \u2018santeros\u2019, \u2018porrillas\u2019, drummers, \u2018torralbos\u2019, the Trumpet of Silence, insignia bearers, four members of the Governing Board of each brotherhood, one steward, together with the acolytes, thurifers and members of the musical ensembles. <\/span><\/p>\n

All participants must carry official identification passes<\/b>. Throughout the Official Processional Route, water distribution points will be provided, and the singing of \u2018saetas\u2019 will not be allowed. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Official Processional Route will be broadcast liv<\/strong>e by Videoluc Televisi\u00f3n, Canal Cofrade<\/strong> (reaching more than 40 municipalities across the 8 Andalusian provinces, which can be consulted here<\/a><\/strong>), PTV Telecom<\/strong> (in C\u00f3rdoba), Canal 7TV<\/strong> (through 36 television channels across the eight Andalusian provinces), and \u2018Paso a Paso\u2019 on Canal Sur Radio<\/strong>, all providing special coverage of the event. In addition, Cadena SER Lucena<\/strong> and Videoluc Televisi\u00f3n will broadcast special programming throughout the precedingt week, complemented by extensive coverage from local media outlets (Lucena Hoy, Pase\u00edllo, and Glamour Lucena<\/strong>) as well as provincial, regional and national media<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

More than one hundred media professionals have been accredited<\/strong>, in addition to the numerous blogs and social media accounts devoted to the brotherhood tradition, particularly those based in Lucena but also from across Andalusia, all of which will likewise play their part in promoting this major event. A way of bringing our Holy Week closer to those who are unable to experience it in person along the processional route.<\/p>\n
