Torralbo Magazine is the educational and informational publication of the Agrupación de Cofradías of Lucena, an editorial project that has accompanied the city’s confraternity life for more than four decades. Its first issue was published during Lent in 1982, thus beginning a journey that has continued uninterrupted to the present day, faithfully reflecting the vitality and commitment of our brotherhoods and confraternities. Since 2020, it has been published entirely in full color. 

With a strong informative character, the publication has become a landmark space for the study, reflection, and promotion of Holy Week in Lucena and of its most distinctive hallmark: the santería, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest.

From its beginnings, the magazine has sought to offerbroad and varied content, always in keeping with the Christian philosophy that inspires our understanding of confraternity and santera life. To this end, the magazine has relied on contributions from a distinguished range of writers, including the Official Chroniclers of Lucena and other authors of recognised standing who have regularly features in its pages. 

Now classic sections such as ‘Notes for History ’, coexist with a new literary and poectic contributionsfrom collaborators, alongside historical studies on the tradition of Holy Week in Lucena. All of this forms part of a publication open to anyone wishing to express their perspective on the Christian and confraternity life of the town.

In addition, the magazine includes the opening greetings from the President of the Agrupación de Cofradías of Lucena and its adviser Priest, as well as a message from the Bishop of Córdoba and the Pope,together with interviews with the Holy Week Proclaimer and the recipient of the Manolo Ramírez Cofrade Award.

The magazine also includes sections dedicated to the activities organised by the Agrupación de Cofradías, as well as anniversaries and events relating to our brotherhoods, which together form the living memory of Holy Week in Lucena.

In 2025, a particularly significant year for the Catholic Church marked by the celebration of the Jubilee Year, Torralbo Magazine publish a special edition in September on the occasion of the Great Passion Procession “Lucena Vive la Pasión”.

In short, Torralbo Magazine is a reflection of an entire community’s commitment to its religious, devotional, cultural, and social heritage. Year after year, it reaffirms itself as a written testimony to a tradition that trascends devotion to become a shared heritage.
