The Agrupación de Cofradías of Lucena presents the 2026 edition of ‘Torralbo Magazine’

17th March 2026. – The Agrupación de Cofradías of Lucena presented the latest edition of its Torralbo magazine on Monday. A total of 350 copies have been printed. The presentation once again highlighted the Lucena brotherhood community’s ability to produce content, preserve memory and build the narrative surrounding its Holy Week.

The event served not only to unveil the latest issue of this leading publication, but also to present three other works that complete this year’s publishing programme. The Official Publications Delegate of the Agrupación de Cofradías of Lucena, Rafael Ramírez Ponferrada, led the joint presentation, during which the 2026 Holy Week Programme —edited by Magdalena Rueda— was unveiled, together with the publication of the 2025 Holy Week Proclamation —delivered by Juan Pérez Guerrero and introduced by José Antonio Alba, who yesterday gave a presentation on it— and the collectible volume dedicated to the history of Holy Week posters and illustrations. This year’s edition focuses on the Franciscan Holy Monday and the Brotherhood of the Encounter on Palm Sunday, an initiative made possible through the generosity of Miguel Ángel López Burgos.

‘Torralbo’ has once again confirmed its status as a key contribution to the written heritage of Lucena’s Holy Week. A collaborative undertaking made possible by the commitment of those who write, research and document, as well as by those who observe and capture the essence of every moment. In this regard, recognition was also given to photographers Joaquín Ferrer, Jerónimo Jiménez, Jesús Ruiz «Gitanito» and Jesús Rodríguez López, whose work helps preserve the visual memory of our Holy Week.

The event also featured the participation of the Brotherhood of Drummers of Lucena, whose performance brought the distinctive sound that forms an inseparable part of the town’s identity, as well as representatives of the brotherhoods, reflecting the collective spirit that underpins this project.

The Agrupación de Cofradías also expressed its sincere gratitude to the Provincial Council of Córdoba (Diputación de Córdoba), which sponsored the printing of the 2025 Holy Week Proclamation publication; to Lucena Town Council (Ayuntamiento de Lucena); to the team at Diev Diseño Evolutivo for their work on its development and design; to the advertisers whose support makes the publication possible; and to all those who, in different ways, contribute to its continued growth year after year.

During his address, the President of the Agrupación de Cofradías thanked everyone in attendance and highlighted the collective effort behind every page, reflecting the collaborative work that the brotherhood community has been carrying out to strengthen the city’s cultural and tourism profile.

With this new edition, ‘Torralbo’ establishes itself as a reference work and collectors’ publication that not only accompanies Lent and Holy Week, but also helps to understand and preserve them.
