25.09.2026.- At the session held today, 23 September 2026, the Board of Officers of the Association of Brotherhoods of Lucena has appointed Mr Rafael Sánchez Cruz to receive the “Manolo Ramírez” Brotherhood Award 2027, in recognition of his long brotherhood career, pursued uninterruptedly for more than thirty years, and of his defence of Christian values and customs through his constant work in the brotherhood world.
Sánchez Cruz served as Hermano Mayor of the Brotherhood and Confraternity of Nazarenes of Ntro. Padre Jesús de la Columna and María Stma. de la Paz y Esperanza from 2012 to 2021, taking over from Rafael Arroyo López, who was also honoured with the “Manolo Ramírez” Brotherhood Award. At present, he holds the position of member of the Casa Hermandad, built during his term as Hermano Mayor.
Since his youth, Rafael Sánchez Cruz has known how to incorporate Christian convictions and principles into his life, contributing through his daily work to enhance the brotherhood world and, with it, Lucena’s Holy Week. A record of commitment and dedication that makes him worthy of the “Manolo Ramírez” Brotherhood Award 2027.
